My name is Miguel Perez, and I’ve been into design for over five years now. I’ve always been drawn to anything design-related, and university has helped me level up my skills and start applying them to real-world work.
I first got into graphic design back in high school through art classes, where I started building my portfolio. Since then, I’ve grown into UI/UX design during my time at MacEwan University, learning how to design better experiences and not just visuals.
I’ve since had the opportunity to work with real clients and different teams, gaining hands-on experience in branding, graphic design, UI/UX, and web design. I’m currently a Junior Graphic Designer at KEEN Creative, a marketing agency in Edmonton, where I get to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with different creatives and clients. It’s been a great way to grow my design process, work in a professional environment, and learn how to turn ideas into work that actually gets used.
Outside of work, I like to travel, especially to Vancouver, and I’m always down for concerts when I can go. Recently, I’ve also been obsessed with collecting these cute little glow-in-the-dark figurines called Smiskis!
