As the Vice President of Design in the MacEwan University Commerce Club, I was tasked to redesign their old WordPress website.

DISCOVER
I began by analyzing the old website and determining the features that needed improvement. For example, the landing page was lacking content that a user would typically look for when visiting the website. The typography and colour scheme of the entire website also needed improvement, as some parts were lacking hierarchy and clarity.
DEFINE
In order to be successful with this project, I conducted research on the club and what the club was all about. Being part of the club and meeting other executives helped me understand the values and purpose of the club. Getting to know the club allowed me to figure out what content to put into the website and how to organize them in a way that made sense.
DEVELOP
Establishing a brand identity before designing the website is important in order to be organized with the styles that I am using; this includes typography and colour. The reason for the shift from red to blue was to make our club stand out and use a colour that is different from the red that the university uses.
DELIVER
Since the old website was made with WordPress, I was able to familiarize myself with the software and learned how it worked. I designed and developed the website using Canva, as it was the only software that everyone in the club had access to.
